The feature was cut from the most recent entry in the franchise, 2016’s Far Cry Primal, but was available in Far Cry 2, Far Cry 3 and Far Cry 4. In addition, Ubisoft is bringing back the Far Cry series’ map editor for Far Cry 5. We’ve reached out to Ubisoft for more details, and we’ll update this article with any information we receive. It’s unclear if both partners will be playing as the same character - while Far Cry 5 allows you to choose the player character’s gender and skin tone, we don’t know if there’s a full-on character creator.
It will be possible to play through the entire campaign in online, not local, co-op. Two Far Cry 5 players will be able to team up and take on the game’s campaign in cooperative play, publisher Ubisoft announced today.
